Heino Viik (b. 1971) is a versatile and inquisitive Estonian author drawn to the complexities of human relationships—whether with oneself, a partner, children, or friends. His characters often face life’s big questions and search for meaning, fulfillment, and happiness.
Raised in Tõravere, home to the Tartu Observatory, Heino studied finance at the University of Tartu and earned an MBA from Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands. His professional journey spans finance, real estate, and education—including teaching history, art history, civics, and economics through the Teach for All program.
Before starting to write in English, Heino published three titles in Estonian. He now writes full-time and lives near Tallinn with his partner and two children.
